Considering the issues of fossil fuel depletion and global warming, using efficient systems, such as trigeneration systems, is becoming more crucial. Recently, trigeneration plants for combined cooling, heating, and power production have received more attentions due to their high thermal efficiency, low operating cost per energy output, and low greenhouse gas emissions. This study will provide significant knowledge for the researchers on the performance of such trigeneration plants. This book presents a comprehensive thermodynamic modeling and thermoeconomic optimization for three novel trigeneration systems. These systems are integration of SOFC with combined cycle, integration of biomass combustor with combined cycle and integration of solar collectors with combined cycle. Comparison is made for the performance of these three systems considering key output parameters: exergy efficiency, cost per exergy unit of products, and greenhouse gas emissions in the base case and optimum case designs. Computation helps in identifying which system under specific operating conditions has a better performance as compared to the other two systems under exergoeconomic optimization conditions.
