The Juridical Relation between the State and the Church in Romania: A Study on Legal History

This book is part of a historiographical recuperation project, dating ever since the clichés of the marxist concepts regarding the relation between the Church and the state have started to be overcome. The contemporary nature of the theme can be demonstrated by observing the reconsideration of the traditional values within the new european context, among which the relations between the Church and the state can be found. Therefore, one can understand the importance of the state's intervention into the Church's activities. The policy of the Byzantine Empire has continued its influence onto the Romanian lands, defined as an asymmetric " symphony " adapted to the realities of the Principalities, then of Modern Romania. The Church would pray for the state and would constantly ask for help, while the State would support the Church, being tempted at the same time to stop serving its interests.
